Disappointing.. Otherwise it was fine.. It has been a while since I last read Balzac, I must admit.I did learn a lot of interesting things: the birth and evolution of the restaurant, the changing order in which various foods were served and consumed, the times of day meals were eaten, and how the Revolution changed culinary traditions.. I found myself having to refer to my hornbook again and again in an effort to find some lucid passages on the topic. Hard to recommend unless you've read few comics. I didn't expect to find any earth shattering new info (which I didn't) but I loved how he structured it around the ideas of utilizing time, energy, and attention, a concept I'm not sure I've seen before. . Also, and very interestingly, the author gives a connection between these extremal modules and elliptic curves. Thank you for once more keeping me up well past when a normal person should sleep with responsibilities the next day..
